10 CFR 851 Orientation

10 CFR 851 Orientation introduces the Department of Energy’s Worker Safety and Health Program. It explains the requirements for maintaining a safe and healthful workplace, including management responsibility, worker rights and responsibilities, hazard identification, hazard prevention and control, required training, and recordkeeping. The orientation helps workers understand how safety is integrated into daily work, what standards apply, and how everyone shares responsibility for recognizing hazards, following controls, and reporting concerns to prevent injuries and illnesses.
